An Assortment of Sorts

 Well I'm back!

What? You didn't know I was gone? Ah phooey!

Nonetheless, I have returned from my self-imposed hiatus from writing/updating/drawing to this site (and by that I mean I stopped procrastinating). And while it would be nice to return to Reddie Rants with an actual rant I must admit that the only things I have worth ranting about right now are political in nature and would be best left to our resident bedlamite Paul. After all, I am supposed to be the apolitical one.  Plus considering how even popularity-challenged "celebrities" (Ms. Goldberg, anyone) are getting into the political ranting business nowadays I think I should keep my own superfluous thoughts away from the oversaturated media. In lieu of a rant you will receive a mélange of links and journal-like entries that are designed to either entertain you, tediously inform you of important (or not) events in our personal lives, or outright estrange you towards us (at which point you will entertain us with your incessant vociferations).

And now that I've used today's "word of the day" (guess which one it was) we can move on...

In cased you missed it, Kenny Shields did a nice arrangement of Tank! from Cowboy Bebop. I guess the HSU jazz band "NuFusion" helped out too, but it was really all just Kenny :). Might I also add that fellow Reddie Ranter John also has an arrangement of Tank! under his belt (along with his pants too, I suppose).

This summer has been filled with more DVD sales than a poor guy like me can handle. As such, my DVD collection, rather, our DVD collection has grown to brobdingnagian proportions from it's original lilliputian size.

In case you haven't heard, my disease rendered my legs so useless that I had to drop to one knee to prevent any further infection. Thankfully, my last minute panacea/placebo seemed to have cured me (or at least caused the infection to recede a bit), and what remains is mostly benign. Unfortunately, the disease was able to make a last minute swipe at my semi-vital "wallet" region and now has caused a severe atrophy in that area. That partially explains the use of Swift'ean  adjectives in the previous statement (another explanation being that I was really bored).

Fellow Reddie Ranter James also succumbed to his disease a week after me.  At least one of his side affects is the prospect of a skydiving bachelor party.

It seems Mario music (stream) is making a comeback in the fan/musician circuit. Before you know it, we will have the Chilean funksters mixing Pac-man music.

Wow, Warner Brothers really knows how to screw up their DC Comics franchises.  First there is the abomination that is Catwoman, then they hire Jack Black to do a comedy of the Green Lantern (a la "The Mask"). At least they got Bryan Singer and the X2 team to do the Superman movie (which means no Singer X3, boo on you!!). At least there is always hope for Grayson, and who knows, maybe we'll see a LEGO version of something soon.

Yay for old-school nostalgia. Boo for parents threatening to "garage sale" said nostalgia.

Speaking of old-school, a game that involves aliens, the FBI, and a fat kid? Count me in!

Cats can be cute until the suddenly realize you're a dog person.  Then you risk the chance of waking up each morning to this.

The word of the day was "resident" and I done used it quite good in the first paragraph.

After four months of work the new campus map is finished. All I can say is thank god for that. If I have to draw another tree in illustrator I will probably [note to self: insert humorous metaphor for "go crazy" using a chimichanga as a starting point]. And contrary to popular belief, Chuck the Squirrel does not make an appearance. At least I got to go on a plane ride for my troubles.

As with all good things in our lives, this rant has come to an abrupt end.  So now I must leave with this important message: Yes, I think you are gaining weight, so lay off the Krispy Kremes Lt. Lardo. Thank you, that is all.
