End of an Era

Exactly one year ago I graduated from Henderson State University and ceased being a "Reddie".  While I will always be a Reddie at heart, it makes no sense to rant about HSU school life when I live 2000 miles away and haven't even seen the campus since I left.

"But what is Reddie Rants?" you ask.  Beyond the description given in the preceding link, Reddie Rants was a blog/comic/ranting website I developed from 2002-2005.  It began as a simple text journal that spoofed Henderson news, progressed to a techno-style webcomic on the same topic, became a regular comic and editorial in the school newspaper, and eventually became the ranting forum for my friends. Even further into the archive de jay, RRants housed my Art site which was created in 1999 at the grand ole age of 16. There my humble beginnings as an artist can be belittled observed. But even that pales in comparison to the hidden Chocobo Land which was created by an "anonymous" RPG fan in 1996.

So what is Reddie Rants? Its a (previous) step in the evolution of my life on the web. It embodies the so-called "best years of my life", and acts as an observational portal to my progression as an artist and person. Plus it documents many embarrassing  events of my college years [no picture links here, these you will have to find on your own]! In the future when my kids ask me what I did in college or how I met their mother, instead of relating to them long faded embellished memories I will be able to show them the amusing trials of our courtship.

To plagiarize myself from a previous website: if you are curious about the enigma that is Jay then this is your place.  I've left the website untouched, warts and all, so feel free to browse around.  Many of the external links are probably dead now, but the ideas behind them still live.

Reddie Rants will always be a part of me and I miss working on it with my friends.  Life moves on and I am eager to see where my new website takes me and what adventures we will have together. But I will never forget my time at Henderson and the great inspiration it gave me.

And it seems the school hasn't forgotten me.
