And about the bookstore, what’s up with that place!? It’s the first day of classes, and people are going to need books, paper, binders, pens, art supplies, etc. so WHY was there only one line open. I must have stood in line for about forty-five minutes waiting, and by the time I was second in line, they go and open another register. What took them so long!? It should have been open a long time before then, but apparently that made too much sense. And speaking of sense, the Caddo is certainly lacking that. They spend a lot of money revamping the look of the place to create a more ‘hip café’ feel by adding TVs (which show lame music videos on mute, got me?), couches, booths, and removing half of the seating previously there. Perhaps they shouldn’t have wasted so much money of the ‘trendy atmosphere’ and improved the food instead. Maybe then, people wouldn’t hate the place. Here’s a hint: People would rather have good food than an artificial chic atmosphere. Not to mention, no matter how much you try to jazz it up, it is still Caddo. It will always be Caddo, and it will never be anything but Caddo no matter how hard you try to change it, so stop trying. And did I mention that the music videos suck? Ah yes, the dorms, oops again residence halls, haven’t changed. Back to the community showers, defective rooms, and loud rap ‘music’ blasting next door, I couldn’t feel more at home. Would really be so much trouble to use headphones? Probably. Do people not know how to take care of the rooms they live in? Probably not. I don’t know what the person who lived here before me did for entertainment, but judging by the dents in the wall (yes dents in the wall), the smashed closet door, and the computer jack falling off the wall, I have come to believe that it involved striking things as hard as possible with a hammer and then proceeding to peel the paint off of the wall. Good thing that the Gundam poster I got at A-kon is huge. So far though, there have been no fire alarms, and I hope that it stays that way. At least the classes I am taking this semester are either easy or interesting enough to make them worth the work. Otherwise the seventeen hours I am taking would get tiresome quite quickly. The only thing that might get tiresome is that pesky report that I have to do for my honors contract in Gen Psych, and that’s only because I very little knowledge about psychology. Ah yes, back at Henderson for another year of education and fun. </sarcasm> Oh well, I had better make the most of it. I’m going to go play Final Fantasy now.
