Animation

Last year, my university's website had a feature where you could look up any person on campus and find a picture of them plus various info (phone, address, etc).  While this caused a huge debate on campus involving privacy, I actually enjoyed using it for art purposes.  We were allowed to place any picture as your "portrait" but were limited to a size 750 kb.  I downloaded a couple of FMVs from the then-recent FF9 (and other FFs) and worked with them to create Animated GIFs to use as more portrait.  The trick in doing this was I had to turn a 1150 frame movie into a 75 frame movie, plus resize and format it just to get under the 750 kb limit.  I made quite a few animations during this time, switching them out as my portrait each week.  You may notice that my early pieces were cropped  very tall and thin. This is because I was restricted to a "portrait format" in the first few weeks but late found a way to make any size picture I wanted.  The pieces that I am most proud of (and which took me the longest) are all of my "chocobo running" animations.   Beyond that, the rest of the animations are just for show, nothing special except for an occasional appearance of yours truly (remember these were intended as a portrait picture, I had to show up somewhere in the animation).  Check back here occasionally for maybe someday I will post some of my original animations...
